Turkey's first medium-range missile engine broke the world record TEI-TJ300

Turkish engineers designed entirely with local and national resources, Turkey's first medium-range missiles TEI-TJ300 engine, reaching 240 mm in diameter with 1342 newton thrust has scored the world record in this class.

According to the statement made by the Ministry of Industry and Technology, the turbojet engine developed within the scope of the TÜBİTAK Technology and Innovation Support Programs Directorate (TEYDEB) Project reached 1342 newtons of impulse force with a diameter of 240 millimeters.

Minister Mustafa Varank shared the record-breaking test video of the TEI-TJ300 engine on his social media account.

Turkey, on the one hand while on the other hand, express or implied embargo in combat by using its own resources and trained manpower is developing local and national solutions. One of these studies conducted, which is Turkey's first Medium Range Missile Engine TEI-TJ300.

In 2017, the TEI-TJ300 turbojet engine project, which was started to be developed in cooperation with TÜBİTAK, TUSAŞ Motor Sanayii AŞ (TEI) and Roketsan, yielded results far beyond the targeted performance. The TEI-TJ300 engine broke the world record in this class by reaching 1342 newtons of thrust with a diameter of 240 mm, while the best of other competitors in the 230-250 mm class produced a maximum thrust of 1250 newtons with a diameter of 250 mm.

The first prototype operation ceremony of the TEI-TJ300 turbojet engine, which was designed completely locally and nationally by Turkish engineers, was held in June 2020 with the participation of Minister Varank. Varank has now shared the record that TEI-TJ300 broke on his social media account. The sharing also included the video of the record-breaking test of TEI-TJ300.

The first prototype test of the turbojet engine was successfully carried out in 2020.

The TEI-TJ300, the first engine in the world that can produce this propulsion power in its class with a limited diameter of 240 mm to be adapted to missile systems, can operate at high speeds up to 90 percent of the sound speed at an altitude of 5000 ft.

TEI-TJ300 engine has the ability to start with wind effect without the need for any starter system (starter motor). This feature enables the platform to be applied to both air, naval and land defense systems.

The serial production process of the engine will begin after the completion of development and qualification tests.
