TÜBİTAK Informatics and Information Security Advanced Technologies Research Center (BİLGEM) and Turkish Aerospace Industries (TUSAŞ) signed a contract to establish a test center for the measurement of radar cross-sectional area (RKA) of aircraft to be produced within the scope of the National Combat Aircraft (MMU) Project.
According to the statements made by TÜBİTAK and TUSAŞ, the signatures were signed by TUSAŞ General Manager Temel Kotil and TÜBİTAK BİLGEM President Hacı Ali Mantar.
With the agreement, TAI will establish an infrastructure capable of testing 20-25 meters aircraft. The radar track measurements to be performed at the RKA Facility of TÜBİTAK BİLGEM with the facility planned to be operational in 2021 can be used in the design and development activities of MMU. Invisible measurement tests at component level will be carried out by TÜBİTAK BİLGEM.
Thanks to the studies, both external dependence on this issue will be eliminated and hidden R & D activities such as radar invisibility will be nationalized.
